COMMON NAME: Daniela FAMILY: Phormiaceae
ORIGIN: The genus to which it belongs includes almost thirty species of herbaceous plants native to various countries from tropical Africa, China or Australia.
ROOM: Tropical and warm climate.
BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: The leaves are long, narrow and tapered with a tendency to curve slightly inwards, sometimes the edges are finely toothed. This species is found with completely dark green leaves, in addition to the 'variegated' form, more showy and decorative thanks to its leaves with a wide central green stripe with creamy white edges.
After flowering it is followed by attractive sphericals of an astonishing electric blue color, the fruits are more striking than the flowers.
FLOWERING TIME: Flowering occurs in mid-spring, although depending on the climate of the area it may happen that flowering begins to originate somewhat later.
USES AND APPLICATIONS: it is a fast-growing herbaceous, which is fascinating to decorate gardens, cover flowerbeds, form part of a group with other plants or planted alone.
The exotic and ornamental appearance is offered by its aesthetic foliage since the flowering is manifestly insignificant.
