CARE OF AZTEC GRASS
This evergreen perennial prefers shade, but tolerates full sun and quickly establishes itself in rich, moist, well-drained soils. The grass will also tolerate less suitable conditions.
This grass can grow up to 12 inches tall in the first year. Once established, it can grow up to 15 inches to 2 feet tall and wide. Aztec plants will need watering only in the midst of severe drought. The year of planting be sure to water regularly because it is not drought tolerant until the roots are established.
Cut it back once a year, preferably in late winter to remove last year's foliage. It is quite resistant to deer so don't rely on them to prune it for you 🙂 Aztec landscaping grass is the perfect choice!
